Listen to the news

Chainlink (CRYPTO: LINK) is priced at $10.93, up 2.58% in the last 24 hours, though it has dropped 5.43% over the past week. For anyone looking at a Chainlink price prediction for 2028, owning 1,000 LINK currently amounts to $10,930. This is about 79.3% lower than its all-time high of $52.70, reached in May 2021.

Recently, LINK has been trending downward. It peaked at $13.34 in the 30 days leading up to October 11 but fell to $10.60 by October 29. Over the past year, the price has fluctuated between a high of $16.36 in November 2025 and a low of $7.19 in June 2026.

Several key price points have emerged for LINK. If it reaches $20, it would regain its 2025 standing; at $30, it would surpass every monthly high since January 2025; and $50 would bring it close to its previous record. Should LINK climb to $20, a 1,000 LINK stake would be valued at $20,000; if it drops to $5, that value would fall to $5,000.

Given the uncertainty, what’s a realistic Chainlink price prediction for 2028?

The overall scene is dark with striking gold and green tones.

The table below lists different potential prices for LINK at the end of 2028. Each is hypothetical, not a prediction, and considers only the current price, excluding staking rewards or other returns. A complete loss is also a possibility.

For perspective, $1,000 currently buys about 91.49 LINK at the current price. The downside deserves equal weight, since LINK traded as low as $7.19 in June 2026.

Chainlink’s market cap stands at approximately $8.37 billion, placing it 17th among cryptocurrencies. This is based on a circulating supply of 766,849,970 LINK out of a maximum of 1,000,000,000. If LINK reaches $50, the market cap would rise to about $38.342 billion, or $50 billion if all tokens traded at that price.

Why $50 LINK Needs a Much Bigger Market Cap Than 2021

A cryptocurrency’s value depends on its price and the supply in circulation. Since LINK peaked at $52.70 on May 9, 2021, its circulating supply has increased. Therefore, reaching the same price again requires a higher total market value than in 2021, as regular token releases raise that threshold.

Recent trends add to the complexity. The highest LINK monthly value since January 2025 hit around $27.87 in August 2025. For LINK to reach $30, it would need to surpass its recent highs from almost two years ago.

Factors That Could Drive LINK toward $20

White text lists various cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin, ChainLink, and Bitcoin Cash, each with a corresponding price (e.g., $42.59, $840.08) and a bright green line chart trending upwards to its right. The screen background is dark, and the positive percentage changes are also shown in green.

On its economics page, Chainlink describes LINK as integral to service payments, network security, and performance incentives. The Payment Abstraction feature allows customers to pay fees in various forms, automatically converting them to LINK. The Chainlink Reserve, funded by enterprise and on-chain service revenue, is said to bring value to the token; however, holders do not receive direct rewards from it.

The Reserve launch provides a clear example. This feature went live on August 7, 2025, when LINK started near $16.93, climbed to $27.87, and closed around $23.20. Chainlink has not disclosed how much revenue its new Payment Abstraction services generate, making it harder to evaluate.

Chainlink also trades with more volatility than Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC). In the last month, LINK dropped 18.9%, while Bitcoin fell by only 8.76%. Over a 90-day period, however, LINK gained 30.11% compared to Bitcoin’s 17.06% increase. Bitcoin, currently priced at $75,789, has declined by 13.16% year to date; thus, a rise to $20 for LINK may also depend on Bitcoin’s recovery.

Can 1,000 LINK Reach $20,000 by 2028?

LINK has a plausible chance of hitting $20 by the end of 2028, but aiming for $50 seems less likely. The token spent considerable time above $20 in 2025, so $20 is a familiar milestone. Conversely, reaching $50 would require a market valuation of approximately $38.342 billion based on current supply levels.

LINK must first reclaim its 50-day moving average of $12.62, then surpass the $15.44 high from September 28, 2026, before Bitcoin’s recovery and steadier Reserve buying can carry it further. If those factors stall, a drop below the 200-day average of $10.06 could bring LINK down to its June 2026 low of $7.19, leaving a $5,000 value if it slips to $5.
