Soybeans Come Back to Close Mixed on Friday

Soybeans found strength on Friday, with front months up a penny to 8 cents and deferreds down 3 to 4 cents. January was down 40 ½ cents on the week. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price was up 6 cents at $11.30 1/4. Soymeal futures were up a dime to $2 cents, with December down $5.40 this week. Soy Oil futures were down a point to 30 points higher, as the weekly loss was 364 points. 

USDA reported a private export sale of 136,000 MT of soybeans to China this morning, all for 2026/27.

Commitment of Traders data showed soybean speculators slashing 52,601 contracts from their net long position in the week ending on November 3, taking it to 132,799 contracts by Tuesday. Much of that was via long liquidation. 

Export Sales data took the total accumulated commitments for 2026/27 to 30.234 MMT, which is an increase of 76% from the same period last year. That is also 66% of the USDA export projection and well ahead of the 54% average pace.

Crop Production data will be released next Tuesday from NASS, as a Bloomberg survey of analysts are looking for yield to be raised by 0.4 bushel per acre to 53.5 bpa. Production is seen at 4.596 billion bushel, up 34 mbu from the previous number if realized. WASDE data is expected to show US bean ending stocks up 17 mbu to 332 mbu.

Brazilian soybeans exports in October totaled 6.34 MMT according to the country’s trade ministry data, a 16.78% drop from September and down 5.71% from a year ago.

Mar 27 Soybeans  closed at $11.99 1/4, up 3 cents,

Nov 27 Soybeans  closed at $11.77 1/2, down 4 1/4 cents,

New Crop Cash  was $11.10, down 3 1/4 cents,
