Tokyo Seimitsu Co., Ltd. (TSE:7729) investors will be delighted, with the company turning in some strong numbers with its latest results. The company beat forecasts, with revenue of JP¥92b, some 3.5% above estimates, and statutory earnings per share (EPS) coming in at JP¥382, 25% ahead of expectations. Following the result, the analysts have updated their earnings model, and it would be good to know whether they think there's been a strong change in the company's prospects, or if it's business as usual. So we gathered the latest post-earnings forecasts to see what estimates suggest is in store for next year.
After the latest results, the nine analysts covering Tokyo Seimitsu are now predicting revenues of JP¥192.2b in 2027. If met, this would reflect a credible 5.5% improvement in revenue compared to the last 12 months. Per-share earnings are expected to accumulate 6.4% to JP¥802. Yet prior to the latest earnings, the analysts had been anticipated revenues of JP¥192.1b and earnings per share (EPS) of JP¥801 in 2027. So it's pretty clear that, although the analysts have updated their estimates, there's been no major change in expectations for the business following the latest results.

There were no changes to revenue or earnings estimates or the price target of JP¥20,900, suggesting that the company has met expectations in its recent result. It could also be instructive to look at the range of analyst estimates, to evaluate how different the outlier opinions are from the mean. Currently, the most bullish analyst values Tokyo Seimitsu at JP¥24,000 per share, while the most bearish prices it at JP¥17,000. This shows there is still a bit of diversity in estimates, but analysts don't appear to be totally split on the stock as though it might be a success or failure situation.
One way to get more context on these forecasts is to look at how they compare to both past performance, and how other companies in the same industry are performing. The analysts are definitely expecting Tokyo Seimitsu's growth to accelerate, with the forecast 11% annualised growth to the end of 2027 ranking favourably alongside historical growth of 6.3% per annum over the past five years. By contrast, our data suggests that other companies (with analyst coverage) in a similar industry are forecast to grow their revenue at 18% per year. It seems obvious that, while the future growth outlook is brighter than the recent past, Tokyo Seimitsu is expected to grow slower than the wider industry.
The most obvious conclusion is that there's been no major change in the business' prospects in recent times, with the analysts holding their earnings forecasts steady, in line with previous estimates. Fortunately, the analysts also reconfirmed their revenue estimates, suggesting that it's tracking in line with expectations. Although our data does suggest that Tokyo Seimitsu's revenue is expected to perform worse than the wider industry. There was no real change to the consensus price target, suggesting that the intrinsic value of the business has not undergone any major changes with the latest estimates.
With that said, the long-term trajectory of the company's earnings is a lot more important than next year. We have estimates - from multiple Tokyo Seimitsu analysts - going out to 2029, and you can see them free on our platform here.
