Microsoft is gradually terminating a cooperative arrangement to rent AI computing power from Oracle as part of a comprehensive reevaluation of multiple multi-billion dollar cloud partnerships. People familiar with the matter said that in recent months, Microsoft decided not to renew the contract and shut down computing power resources leased from Oracle one after another. These sources, who did not wish to be named, said that as time passed, this batch of computing power was no longer able to meet Microsoft's technical standards, and this batch of Oracle hardware was equipped with Nvidia's older generation chips. An Oracle spokesperson said the company's AI infrastructure is still in high demand. Oracle said in September that some GPUs that had been in use for four years had a 20% premium over the original contract renewal price.
