11:48 AM EST, 11/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The blue-chip DAX index closed Friday 2.02% lower, ending the trading week on a downbeat note, as a global selloff in artificial intelligence-related stocks weighed on investor sentiment amid concerns over tighter US regulation. At home, industrial output in September edged up 0.7% on a monthly basis, compared with a revised 1% growth earlier and an expected zero growth, according to Destatis. The positive development is mainly attributed to increased production in the automotive and pharmaceutical industries. "All in all, this morning's industrial production data is both a sign of strength and weakness. Of strength, as industry defied some severe headwinds in the third quarter, but also weakness, as the momentum of the second quarter has clearly faded. It's a gradual rebound but still a far cry from being a substantial recovery," ING said. In corporate news, Daimler Truck (DTG.F) fell 3.70%, as RBC Capital Markets noted that third-quarter order intake of 71,168 units, up 10% year over year, came in below market forecasts. The truck manufacturer also reported a 19% year-on-year revenue increase to 12.58 billion euros and a 73% surge in adjusted EBIT to 1.12 billion euros. "The main headline miss in the results is the order intake, but we think buy-side expectations were already below consensus here given ACT order data and peer results. Otherwise, margins were broadly in line, FCF (even excluding the ARCHION sell-down) was strong, and FY guidance is unchanged," RBC Capital Markets said in a quick take note. Uniper (UN0.F) intends to propose a full-year 2026 dividend of 321 million euros, or 0.77 euro per share, up from 300 million euros, or 0.72 euro per share, in the prior year. The planned payout reflects the German state-owned utility's new midterm policy, which includes a 300 million-euro annual base dividend and targets a 7% compound annual growth rate. Uniper was up 1.86% on Xetra. In geopolitical news, the Council of the European Union agreed on its position to potentially delay import-related methane emission monitoring rules by one year to 2028, with provisions for additional extensions, amid the ongoing energy market disruptions related to the conflict in the Middle East. The council seeks to fast-track talks with the European Parliament to enact the delay before year-end, ahead of the current Jan. 1, 2027 effective date.
