Key Points

  • Brookfield Renewable generated $346 million in third-quarter funds from operations.

  • The company participated in $3 billion invested or committed for growth during the quarter.

  • Asset sales expected to generate $2.8 billion in total proceeds.

On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Nov. 4, 2026, Brookfield Renewable (NYSE:BEPC) reported $346 million in funds from operations, an industry metric measuring operational cash flows. The clean energy provider continues to expand its power assets while securing cash flow with long-term sales contracts and fixed-rate debt. Three things management said stand out.

1. Asset Recycling Provides a Recurring Source of Growth Capital

The company sells mature wind, solar, and hydro assets after building them out, using the cash to fund new projects at higher returns without relying solely on outside debt.

As our development activities continue to scale, we are increasingly establishing recurring asset recycling programs within all of our platforms, allowing us to monetize newly developed assets and redeploy capital into higher-returning opportunities.
-- Patrick Taylor, Chief Financial Officer

2. Battery Storage Expansion Locks In Long-Term Revenues

Instead of relying on volatile spot electricity prices, management secures 15- to 20-year take-or-pay contracts that mandate payment regardless of usage, locking in fixed revenue streams for battery facilities.

We are signing 15, 20-year take-or-pay tolling agreements or capacity agreements for batteries that have very similar risk profiles to what we see in wind and solar, but we are able to do that at a premium return.
-- Connor David Teskey, Chief Executive Officer

3. Nuclear Power Demand Creates Long-Term Service Opportunities

Rising global electricity needs are accelerating commercial interest in nuclear power, positioning the company's Westinghouse division to earn ongoing revenue from engineering and nuclear fuel supply.

More broadly, growing demand for nuclear power, combined with our expertise across the sector and access to scale capital, is creating additional opportunities for us to invest in nuclear, which we are actively evaluating.

Looking Ahead

Electricity consumption is accelerating across global markets, and management is positioning the business to capture this expanding demand. A vast development pipeline, deep access to low-cost financing, and extensive geographic diversification protect earnings while supporting ongoing project construction. Management remains focused on maintaining pricing discipline across power contracts.

Our access to diverse sources of scale, long duration capital, remains a significant competitive advantage, providing flexibility to fund our growing development pipeline and pursue attractive investment opportunities.
-- Patrick Taylor, Chief Financial Officer

Long-term power purchase contracts provide predictable revenue streams that insulate the business from short-term commodity price swings, allowing capital to compound across energy transition cycles.

Taken together, with a favorable long-term outlook for power demand, our sector-leading capabilities, and our strong balance sheet, we believe we are better positioned than ever to compound value over the long term for our investors.
-- Connor David Teskey, Chief Executive Officer
