PPL: Q3 Earnings Snapshot

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — PPL Corp. (PPL) on Friday reported third-quarter net income of $367 million.

The Allentown, Pennsylvania-based company said it had net income of 49 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and costs related to mergers and acquisitions, were 54 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 53 cents per share.

The energy and utility holding company posted revenue of $2.5 billion in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.44 billion.

PPL expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.92 to $1.96 per share.
