STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — Charter Communications Inc. (CHTR) on Friday reported a loss of $2.4 billion in its third quarter.

The Stamford, Connecticut-based company said it had a loss of $20.50 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $21.70 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $9.08 per share.

The cable provider posted revenue of $14.92 billion in the period.
