On November 6, Ambassador Dai Bing was invited to attend the Korea-China Economic Association symposium to exchange views with former South Korean Prime Minister Ding Se-kyun and members of the Association on Sino-Korean economic cooperation. Dai Bing said that the economic relationship between China and South Korea has moved to a new stage of improving quality and increasing resilience, and cooperation between the two sides has evolved from a vertical division of labor to horizontal collaboration. “Cooperate in competition, compete in cooperation” has become the new normal. Currently, the global economic landscape is fluctuating and adjusting, and economic cooperation between China and South Korea is not only facing challenges, but also ushering in major historical opportunities. China and South Korea should work together to promote the construction of an open Asia-Pacific economy and jointly maintain the stability of the international free trade system and production and supply chain. At the same time, as a global technological and manufacturing powerhouse, the two sides should work together to implement the important consensus of the heads of state of the two countries, deepen and implement existing cooperation, continue to explore cooperation in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, digital industry and biomedicine, give full play to the advantages of China's mega-market and “near-water building” between the two countries, and promote economic cooperation between China and South Korea to leap from “industrial complementarity” to “innovation and symbiosis.”
