Humana: Q3 Earnings Snapshot

The Louisville, Kentucky-based company said it had profit of $1.33 per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 70 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of $1.03 per share.

The health insurer posted revenue of $41.16 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $40.83 billion, also exceeding Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $40.46 billion.

Humana expects full-year earnings to be $9.50 per share.
