Listen to the news

We wouldn't blame Byline Bancorp, Inc. (NYSE:BY) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Brogan Ptacin, the Executive VP & Head of Commercial Banking recently netted about US$627k selling shares at an average price of US$38.92. That's a big disposal, and it decreased their holding size by 30%, which is notable but not too bad.

Byline Bancorp Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Lead Independent Director, Antonio Del Valle Perochena, sold US$12m worth of shares at a price of US$39.10 per share. That means that an insider was selling shares at around the current price of US$38.04. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. Given that the sale took place at around current prices, it makes us a little cautious but is hardly a major concern.
