12:50 AM EST, 11/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The British government plans to extend the National Health Service's contract with US software company Palantir Technologies (PTX.F), while it draws up options for a potential local alternative, the Financial Times reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter. A government review reportedly considered ending the deal by triggering a break clause in February but concluded that doing so would be too disruptive for NHS data systems. Ministers are now said to be planning a new procurement process that prioritizes UK technological sovereignty, potentially paving the way for Palantir's replacement within two years. Palantir could still bid in the new process on the same terms as other companies, the report said. Palantir and NHS did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
