The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon posted on social platforms on the 5th that according to relevant UN Security Council resolutions, UNIFIL will begin to reduce its military strength and withdraw from Lebanon after ending its mission on December 31, 2026. UNIFIL stated that until the end of the mission, peacekeepers will continue to carry out daily operations in southern Lebanon, including monitoring and reporting on local developments, maintaining contacts with all parties to the conflict, supporting the Lebanese Armed Forces, and assisting in humanitarian missions.
