Novo Nordisk stock closed at DKK270.4 after Q3 2026 numbers hit the tape, with traders reacting to the headline wobble in quarterly earnings per share and net profit. On a three month view the share price is still down 11.4%, so short term holders are treating every miss or mixed line as a trading event rather than a business update.
The more important story sits in the longer run profit engine. Trailing twelve month earnings of DKK113.2b and a P/E of 10.5x against higher industry multiples keep the focus on whether this profitability trend and valuation gap can coexist for long.

Novo Nordisk raised 2026 guidance on stronger GLP-1 momentum. Ask Charlie what Novo Nordisk’s new GLP-1 launches really change.
The bullish story hangs on Novo Nordisk turning today’s obesity and diabetes strength into a broader, multi-product engine that outlives semaglutide.
"The goal to launch at least five multi-blockbuster drugs by 2030, with a risk adjusted sales ambition of more than DKK 150b over the following decade, gives Novo Nordisk multiple shots at new revenue streams that could lessen reliance on GLP 1 pricing and support longer term earnings resilience."
Q3 moves this claim from slideware toward execution. Adjusted sales of DKK 79.2b and obesity growth of 22% sit alongside concrete milestones. Wegovy pill is live in 7 international markets, Frehemgo has a positive CHMP opinion, and CagriSema plus zenagamtide are advancing. That is early but real progress toward the five multi-blockbuster target.

Bears argue that Novo Nordisk could fall short in replacing future GLP 1 pressure with new franchises if key late stage bets stumble.
"Although Novo Nordisk expects its Blood and Endocrine Disorders unit to grow sales by more than 50% between 2026 and 2030, the setback in the IL-6 cardiovascular programme and the concentration of future expectations in a small number of late stage assets such as FREHEMGO, etavopivat and zaltenibart mean that clinical or regulatory disappointments could leave this diversification short of the pipeline sales needed to counter semaglutide loss of exclusivity and GLP-1 price pressure, with knock on effects for revenue and operating profit."
Q3 revenue growth of about 5.6% and a 27% jump in adjusted operating profit show no sign yet of that earnings hole, helped by obesity volumes and Wegovy pill uptake. At the same time, the ZEUS setback is real, and Frehemgo is still pre launch for 2027, so diversification progress remains more promise than booked sales in these numbers.
Novo Nordisk just showed how a powerful profit engine can still leave investors debating the right multiple. The real opportunity sits in finding stocks that could be mispriced before sentiment shifts.
