Shanghai Municipal Party Secretary Chen Jining recently met with the Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme, Alexander Decro, and his entourage who came to Shanghai to attend the 9th CIIE. Chen Jining said that President Xi Jinping's meeting with UN Secretary General Guterres in Shanghai in July this year showed us the direction for deepening cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme and other UN agencies. As China's economic center city and a frontier window for reform and opening up, Shanghai has firmly grasped the fundamental requirements of high-quality development, fully and accurately implemented the new development concept, deepened the construction of the “Five Centers”, and strived to give full play to its leading driving and exemplary leading role in advancing Chinese-style modernization. We are willing to work with the United Nations Development Programme to use the establishment of the Global Center for Sustainable Development in Shanghai as an opportunity to firmly grasp the opportunities of greening and digital intelligence transformation, carry out more extensive exchanges and mutual learning in the fields of sustainable procurement, green finance, ecological environment protection, resilient city construction, and artificial intelligence management, and promote more cooperative results to make Shanghai's greater contribution to global sustainable development.
