UK's Ofgem Investigates Iberdrola Unit Over Customer Fairness, Billing Rules

03:41 AM EST, 11/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Office of Gas and Electricity Markets, or Ofgem, launched a probe into whether Iberdrola's (IBE.MC) ScottishPower Energy Retail unit complied with customer fairness and billing rules. The regulator said Thursday that it will look for potential breaches in backbilling, identifying and supporting customers in vulnerable situations, assessing customers' ability to pay, and treating customers fairly. The investigation does not mean that any non-compliance was found, the regulator noted.
