Viavi Solutions: Fiscal Q1 Earnings Snapshot

CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) — CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) — Viavi Solutions Inc. (VIAV) on Wednesday reported fiscal first-quarter net income of $76 million.

On a per-share basis, the Chandler, Arizona-based company said it had profit of 29 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 47 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 40 cents per share.

The communications equipment company posted revenue of $469.3 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $455.2 million.

For the current quarter ending in December, Viavi Solutions expects its per-share earnings to range from 50 cents to 52 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $505 million to $515 million for the fiscal second quarter.
