The Zhitong Finance App learned that Novo Nordisk (NVO.US) rose more than 6% to $42.64 on Wednesday. According to the news, Novo Nordisk's financial report on November 4 shows that adjusted sales for the third quarter reached DKK 79.2 billion, higher than market expectations of 73.55 billion kroner; adjusted profit before interest and tax was 31.72 billion kroner, which also greatly exceeded expectations of 28.71 billion kroner.

The company raised its full-year adjusted sales and operating profit growth forecasts to the -2% to +2% range calculated at a fixed exchange rate, which is better than the -6% to flat range previously set in August.

Company CEO Mike Doustdar said that the third quarter results were better than expected, and the obesity business portfolio performed particularly well. The company's chief financial officer, Karsten Munk Knudsen, said the improved performance outlook was mainly due to increased expectations for sales of GLP-1 products.

Novo Nordisk also disclosed that the oral version of Ozempic was launched in the US in May of this year, and the weekly prescription volume (NBRx) of the new brand has increased by about 100% compared to the level of the Rybelsus brand before launch. The company said that the Ozempic 2.0 mg dosage version and the WegoVy 7.2 mg single dose pen are also being rolled out at an accelerated pace in the international market.
