Listen to the news

We wouldn't blame Precision Drilling Corporation (TSE:PD) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Darren Ruhr, the Chief Administrative Officer recently netted about CA$1.5m selling shares at an average price of CA$149. That sale reduced their total holding by 20% which is hardly insignificant, but far from the worst we've seen.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Precision Drilling

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the Chief Operating Officer, Gene Stahl, for CA$1.7m worth of shares, at about CA$138 per share. So we know that an insider sold shares at around the present share price of CA$135. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. In this case, the big sale took place at around the current price, so it's not too bad (but it's still not a positive).
