Meier Tobler Receives CHF492 Million Takeover Offer from Swedish Ahlsell Group

01:58 AM EST, 11/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Meier Tobler Group (MTG.SW) received a takeover proposal of 492 million francs from business-to-business industrial distributor of technical products, Swedish Ahlsell Group. The Swiss building materials company said Wednesday that its directors unanimously recommended the cash offer of 45.50 francs per share, citing a fairness opinion of IFBC. The company's 58.55% owner, Meier Capital, also committed to accepting the offer. The proposal will be open for acceptance from Thursday through Dec. 2, with an additional acceptance period scheduled for Dec. 7 to 18. Settlement is expected in the first quarter of 2027, with completion subject to regulatory approvals, among other conditions. Upon completion, Meier Tobler will be delisted from the SIX Swiss Exchange.
