The National Development and Reform Commission said that during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, China will build about 15 new civil transport airports, with Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Chongqing as the center, to build a world-class airport cluster with main and auxiliary coordination, complementary functions, and a balance of passengers and goods. Build new airports in Hohhot, Xiamen, and Dalian, build new airports in Guangzhou and Nantong, advance work on new airports such as Sanya, implement a number of hub airport renovations and expansions, and build a number of airports in border areas.
