It's shaping up to be a tough period for Intellect Design Arena Limited (NSE:INTELLECT), which a week ago released some disappointing quarterly results that could have a notable impact on how the market views the stock. Intellect Design Arena missed analyst forecasts, with revenues of ₹8.5b and statutory earnings per share (EPS) of ₹7.32, falling short by 3.0% and 3.7% respectively. The analysts typically update their forecasts at each earnings report, and we can judge from their estimates whether their view of the company has changed or if there are any new concerns to be aware of. So we collected the latest post-earnings statutory consensus estimates to see what could be in store for next year.
Following the latest results, Intellect Design Arena's four analysts are now forecasting revenues of ₹34.5b in 2027. This would be a reasonable 5.6% improvement in revenue compared to the last 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are predicted to ascend 17% to ₹29.57. Yet prior to the latest earnings, the analysts had been anticipated revenues of ₹35.3b and earnings per share (EPS) of ₹33.20 in 2027. From this we can that sentiment has definitely become more bearish after the latest results, leading to lower revenue forecasts and a real cut to earnings per share estimates.

It'll come as no surprise then, to learn that the analysts have cut their price target 16% to ₹794. That's not the only conclusion we can draw from this data however, as some investors also like to consider the spread in estimates when evaluating analyst price targets. There are some variant perceptions on Intellect Design Arena, with the most bullish analyst valuing it at ₹950 and the most bearish at ₹667 per share. These price targets show that analysts do have some differing views on the business, but the estimates do not vary enough to suggest to us that some are betting on wild success or utter failure.
Of course, another way to look at these forecasts is to place them into context against the industry itself. The period to the end of 2027 brings more of the same, according to the analysts, with revenue forecast to display 12% growth on an annualised basis. That is in line with its 11% annual growth over the past five years. Compare this with the broader industry, which analyst estimates (in aggregate) suggest will see revenues grow 11% annually. It's clear that while Intellect Design Arena's revenue growth is expected to continue on its current trajectory, it's only expected to grow in line with the industry itself.
The most important thing to take away is that the analysts downgraded their earnings per share estimates, showing that there has been a clear decline in sentiment following these results. They also downgraded their revenue estimates, although as we saw earlier, forecast growth is only expected to be about the same as the wider industry. Furthermore, the analysts also cut their price targets, suggesting that the latest news has led to greater pessimism about the intrinsic value of the business.
With that in mind, we wouldn't be too quick to come to a conclusion on Intellect Design Arena. Long-term earnings power is much more important than next year's profits.
