Shanghai Mayor Zhu Zhongming met with Gabonese President Nguema and his entourage today. On behalf of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, Zhu Zhongming warmly welcomed Ngui-Malaysia and Shanghai to attend the 9th CIIE. Zhu Zhongming said that China and Gabon have a deep traditional friendship. As China's largest economic center city, Shanghai is actively promoting a high level of opening-up to the outside world and strengthening international cooperation and exchanges. We attach great importance to friendly exchanges with Gabon. Facing the future, we will earnestly implement the important agreement reached between President Xi Jinping and you, give full play to the advantages of local cooperation, and make Shanghai's positive contribution to practical cooperation between the two countries. We hope to use the joint construction of high-quality “Belt and Road” development as an opportunity to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Gabon in economic, trade and industrial investment, achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win situation, and create greater welfare for the people of the two regions. Gabon will participate in the CIIE National Exhibition for the first time this year, which is very exciting. Gabonese companies are welcome to actively participate in the CIIE and bring more high-quality specialty products to Shanghai and China. At the same time, it is hoped that the two sides will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of youth, education, culture, tourism, etc., to further promote mutual understanding among the people and strengthen ties of friendship.
