The Zhitong Finance App learned that the main summit of the International Financial Leaders Investment Summit organized by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority was held today. The event brought together around 280 international financial leaders, including around 120 group chairmen and CEOs. Yu Weiwen, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, said that the summit has been held for five consecutive years and has become a platform for promoting high-level dialogue among international financial leaders and deepening ties with the global financial community. Attendees can experience firsthand how Hong Kong can “think differently and open up a new situation”, promote economic transformation through innovative technology, and strengthen its position as an international financial center.
The theme of this year's main summit was “Thinking for Change, Pioneering New Horizons”. Vice Premier He Lifeng of the State Council delivered the opening speech at the summit in video format. The discussion then focused on the emerging opportunities and potential risks brought to different industries, assets, and regions by recent macroeconomic trends, financial market changes, and technological developments. The speakers thought together to update the “rules of the game” to deal with a world where risk persists and resilience is essential.
The event attracted international financial leaders from various sectors such as banks, securities firms, asset holders, asset managers, private equity and venture capital firms, hedge funds and insurance companies.
The three-day summit kicked off with a welcome dinner at The Henderson yesterday (2nd) and will conclude tomorrow (4th) with a “Dialogue with International Investors” seminar co-hosted by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission and the School of Finance.
