06:41 AM EST, 11/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- JD.com's planned acquisition of German electronics retailer Ceconomy (CEC.F) received approval from the European Commission, subject to full compliance with the remedies offered by the companies. The authority said the commitments address its competition concerns and the impact of the foreign subsidies it identified in an in-depth investigation, according to a Tuesday release. The remedies include conducting intra-group deals on market terms and providing JD.com's warehousing, logistics and technology services to third parties on the same terms as those offered to Ceconomy. The probe launched in May found that the Chinese retailer received foreign subsidies through preferential financing, tax incentives and grants from the Chinese government that may improve the merged entity's competitive position and distort the EU internal market. An independent trustee supervised by the Commission will monitor the implementation of the commitments, which are valid for 10 years.
