On November 3, 2026, China successfully launched 18 “Thousand Sails Constellation” networked satellites of Shanghai Yuanxin Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. into the scheduled orbit using the Lijian2 Yao2 launch vehicle at the Dongfeng Commercial Aerospace Innovation Pilot Zone. The launch mission was a complete success. The “Thousand Sails Constellation” is a low-orbit satellite internet constellation independently developed, built, and commercially operated by Kakinobu Satellite. It uses Ku and Q/V bands and mainly provides services such as broadband communication and Internet access. Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology guided the completion of domestic frequency coordination for relevant satellites, and issued space radio station licenses and radio frequency usage permits in batches, providing strong support for the smooth implementation of the “Thousand Sails Constellation” project.
