The draft has a total of 55 articles. It amends and improves China's criminal procedure system from seven major aspects, further coordinates the punishment of crimes and the protection of human rights, and safeguarding the impartiality of the administration of justice. The draft amendments to the Criminal Procedure Law submitted to the Standing Committee for preliminary review take the protection of the legal rights and interests of participants in the lawsuit as an important main line, make up for shortcomings in the system from multiple dimensions of victims, suspect defendants, defense lawyers, and minors, so that the public can feel fair and just in every judicial case.
