The US Treasury raised the July-September bond financing forecast to $739 billion. The US Treasury estimates that the net financing of negotiable treasury bonds to the private sector from July to September 2026 is US$739 billion, assuming a cash balance of US$950 billion at the end of September. The financing estimate is $68 billion higher than the May forecast, mainly due to a decline in net cash inflow expectations. Excluding the higher-than-expected cash balance at the beginning of the quarter, the financing estimate was $87 billion higher than the May forecast. The Ministry of Finance expects financing of US$628 billion from October to December 2026, assuming a cash balance of US$850 billion at the end of December. From April to June 2026, the Ministry of Finance actually raised 190 billion US dollars, compared to the previous estimate of 189 billion US dollars. The Ministry of Finance's cash balance at the end of June was 919 billion US dollars, higher than the forecast of 900 billion US dollars.
