The Zhitong Finance App learned that US President Trump said that if the Democratic Party takes control of Congress after the midterm elections, he is willing to provide protective amnesty to Elon Musk and his core staff.

In an interview, Trump refuted claims that the Democratic Party would push to nationalize Musk's SpaceX (SPCX.US), but he also said he would “protect” the billionaire entrepreneur and any staff member targeted by congressional investigators, including Edward Coristine — who participated in Musk's DOGE (Ministry of Government Efficiency) project to cut spending on government projects.

Trump confirmed that this could mean a preventative amnesty if necessary.

“Of course I would do it if needed,” he said on conservative commentator Miranda Devine's “Pod Force One” podcast. “I wouldn't hesitate.”

According to information, former President Joe Biden previously issued protective pardons to his son Hunter Biden and several government officials who may be targets of the second Trump administration's retaliation. Trump cited this precedent as a basis for his commitment to protect his staff.

“That's what Biden did. He gave everyone a pardon,” Trump added, referring to pardons for those who helped investigate the January 6 attack on the US Capitol.

According to reports, Musk has spent hundreds of millions of dollars to support the Republicans in the midterm elections, and said on the X platform last Friday that maintaining the Republican Party's majority in the Senate is the key to preventing a “permanent one-party country” under the Democratic Party.
