AbbVie just dropped its Q3 2026 report and the stock barely flinched, up about 1.4% to US$294.89 by the close. That is a muted move for a business that just printed US$17.4b in quarterly revenue and lifted full year adjusted earnings guidance to a midpoint of US$13.97 per share. The market is treating this like a routine beat, but the underlying message is louder. A richer net margin over the past year and a high 50.6x trailing P/E now collide with lingering worries about debt and negative equity.

Earnings grab headlines, but investors who care about what AbbVie is actually worth usually spend more time on the cash flowing through the business. Those cash flows can tell a different story to reported profit in any single quarter.
On AbbVie’s numbers, if you focus on cash generation rather than just this year’s big swing in earnings, the stock could be a dramatic 41% undervalued.
AbbVie is often framed as a test of whether new drugs can truly replace Humira and Imbruvica. That ambition is laid out clearly.
"The key requirement for AbbVie is successfully executing on its pipeline and business development so that new immunology, oncology and neuroscience drugs replace revenue from declining products such as Humira and Imbruvica."
Immunology revenue of about US$34.9b for 2026, led by Skyrizi at US$21.8b and Rinvoq at US$11.2b, now meaningfully exceeds Humira’s shrinking US$683m quarterly haul. Neuroscience at roughly US$3.4b with fast growing Parkinson’s and migraine products adds further proof that replacement is happening, not just promised.
On the flip side, concerns focus on whether competition and regulation will chip away at AbbVie’s newer pillars.
"Imbruvica sales fell 29.4% operationally in the recent quarter due to pricing rules and competitive share pressure. Similar pressure spreading to other AbbVie oncology products could offset growth from newer assets and limit segment contribution to revenue and earnings."
Oncology revenue of about US$1.7b grew only 0.9% operationally as Imbruvica declined 26.1%. Gains from Venclexta, Epkinly and Elahere largely just patch the hole. That sluggish segment outcome, despite strong immunology and neuroscience, shows competitive and pricing headwinds are already visible rather than theoretical.

AbbVie just showed how a big earnings story can leave the share price moving only modestly. The real opportunity is in finding stocks that could be undervalued before the market closes that gap.
