If you only glanced at tonies' latest figures, the picture looks odd. Revenue for H1 2026 was €242.931 million while the group still reported a loss and a net margin of 11.3% in the red. For tonies shareholders, the return from the start of the year was 34.0%, including dividends. If you had been deciding on 1 January 2026, what would have mattered more: rapid top line progress or deepening losses?
Narratives are how investors here put a case on the record, with explicit assumptions about revenue, margins and the multiple. Those assumptions imply an estimated Fair Value.

The shares cost €10.68 at the start of the period, and tonies sat between two sharply different storylines that both sounded plausible.
The bullish narrative put fair value at €12. It rested on assumptions of 29.3% revenue growth, a 7.6% profit margin, and a future P/E of 19.0x, supported by confidence in screen free learning and Disney backed content.
The bearish view set fair value at €9. It assumed 21.9% revenue growth, a 3.4% margin, and a future P/E of 38.1x, with digital competition and licensing dependence treated as key risks.
The extension of tonies CEO Tobias Wann's contract through 2029 supported the view that leadership stability can matter for long term expansion. At the same time, H1 2026 revenue of €242.931 million versus €176.615 million in H1 2025 came with a deeper loss, as net margin moved from 0.6% in the red to 11.3% in the red. The evidence was mixed.
The key lesson is simple. When a thesis leans on future profitability, treat leadership moves and partnerships as secondary and keep checking whether net margin and absolute earnings are moving toward the story that was presented.
Tonies now trades at €13.72 from the start of the year, with this Narrative’s Fair Value sitting above that market level based on its own framework. The argument leans heavily on international rollout, fresh content partnerships and a thicker mix of recurring style figurine spending.
For anyone paying today’s price, the central question is whether sustained demand for screen free, educational audio and expanding retailer coverage can keep supporting margin progress and repeat content purchases at the pace the Narrative assumes.
"Direct-to-consumer sales momentum on digital platforms (Amazon) and an expanding ecosystem with "subscription-like" figurine sales behavior are reducing dependency on wholesale phasing and seasonal swings, improving cash flow predictability, enhancing net margins, and setting the stage for higher recurring revenues as international penetration rises."
