Amundi stock closed at €91.15 on Friday, roughly flat over the past month, as the market processed a Q3 2026 update built around record inflows and a significant profit figure. The headline number was €675m of net income helped by a large capital gain, with basic earnings per share at €3.27 for the quarter.
Short term traders saw another set of strong results from a major European asset manager. Long term investors may focus less on the one quarter earnings jump and more on how record net inflows of €40.9b could influence Amundi’s earnings profile over the next few years.

Amundi ended Q3 with over €1bn in surplus capital. Ask Charlie what Amundi plans to do with its surplus capital.
For the bullish view to work, Amundi needs its growth engines to show up clearly in the numbers.
"The main thing that has to go right is that Amundi converts strong net inflows in areas like ETFs, technology services, Asia and private assets into durable fee and platform revenues that more than offset outflows from legacy partnerships and slight fee margin dilution."
Q3 shows real traction. Net inflows topped €100b over nine months, with €45b in ETFs, €5b in private assets and €8b from Asia in Q3 alone. Management fees rose 13% and technology revenues grew 17% to €34m. UniCredit outflows remain, yet record long term inflows suggest the new engines are more than filling the gap so far.
The bear case focuses on mix and partner risk that could quietly erode the Amundi story.
"Client and product mix is moving further toward institutional, passive and fixed income solutions, and the asset management revenue margin has already moved to 15.9 bps with a reported 0.5 bps decline over 2024."
Record inflows are heavily skewed to ETFs and fixed income. That supports volume but leans into the lower fee mix that already pushed the margin down. UniCredit outflows continue to weigh on older channels. The cost or timing of any exceptional French tax contribution is still unresolved. Q3 profits look strong, yet these structural drags have not gone away.
