According to data from the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the number of visitors to Hong Kong reached 4.031 million in September, an increase of 22.4% over the previous year. The number of mainland visitors surged by 28.9% year on year to 3.17 million, while non-mainland visitors increased by 3.3% year on year. The number of overnight visitors increased 10.7% year over year to 1.649 million; however, overnight same-day round-trip visitors soared 32.1% year over year to 2.382 million. The number of long-haul visitors increased 19.6% year over year, while the number of short-haul visitors excluding the Mainland decreased by 5.1% year on year. The total number of visitors to Hong Kong from January to September was 40.704 million, an increase of 11.6% over the previous year.
