Everspin Technologies (MRAM) Stock Slips As Record Q3 Results Meet GAAP Losses

Simply Wall St·10/30/2026 02:34:20
Listen to the news

Everspin Technologies slipped 1.5% to US$14.43 into Thursday’s close, a muted move for a semiconductor stock that just printed record Q3 2026 revenue. The headline is simple: the business delivered US$20.6 million in sales and positive non GAAP earnings per share of US$0.12, even as reported GAAP figures stayed in loss territory.

Short term traders are reacting to a small price dip. Long term holders are staring at a different picture, one where rising top line scale, cash of US$43 million with no debt, and a below peer P/S multiple frame a very different risk reward debate.

Love Everspin Technologies' record Q3 revenue and clean balance sheet but concerned GAAP earnings are still in the red? See how that trade off compares across our list of solid balance sheet and fundamentals stocks (23 results).

Everspin Bull Case Hinges On Design Win Conversion

For Everspin Technologies, the optimistic story hinges on design wins turning into real volume shipments and healthier earnings over time.

"Expanding use of MRAM in data center, edge AI and IoT designs, including IBM FCM modules and FPGA or MPU configurations, positions Everspin to convert its 238 design wins in 2025 into broader product revenue and earnings contributions over time."

Q3 shows that conversion starting to materialize. Product sales reached US$16.9 million with 34% year on year growth and 11% sequential progress, helped by industrial, data center, energy management and new medical demand. Nonproduct revenue of US$3.7 million and positive non GAAP earnings of US$0.12 per share further confirm that early monetization of ecosystem work is already showing up in the income statement.

Everspin Bear Case: Contract Dependence Still Unproven

The cautious view says Everspin Technologies is leaning too hard on one large defense subcontract, with earnings at risk if that work eases off or stalls.

"Any future tapering of this program could limit longer term revenue visibility and contribute to lumpier earnings."

Q3 shows US$3.7 million in nonproduct revenue helped lift non GAAP EPS to US$0.12, while GAAP results stayed in the red. That concentration risk is not hypothetical. A record quarter leans heavily on milestone revenue that may not repeat, and guidance still points to GAAP losses as litigation and Microchip spending run through the P&L.

Hunt For Quiet Mispricings

Everspin Technologies just reported record revenue alongside a relatively small share price reaction. The real opportunity is hunting for stocks that could be undervalued before the market adjusts.

  • Company 1 - 21% below our estimate - uses robotic surgery systems and higher acuity procedures to deepen its role in complex orthopaedic and neuro care.
  • Company 2 - 25% below our estimate - shifts legacy hardware relationships toward AI focused networking, data center infrastructure and subscription like cloud services.
  • Company 3 - 40% below our estimate - scales solar tracking and control platforms while pushing into storage and inverter offerings tied to new project backlogs.
