The Zhitong Finance App learned that AIA (01299) rose nearly 4% in early trading. As of press release, it rose 3.70% to HK$74.3, with a turnover of HK$774 million.

According to the news, AIA released operating data for the third quarter. The value of the new business was US$1,415 million, down 5% at a fixed exchange rate, mainly reflecting the decline in business in Hong Kong and the Mainland, but this was partly offset by an 18% increase in the value of new business in other reporting segments. The value of the Group's new business rebounded strongly in September, growing by more than 25% year-on-year. The Group expects strong momentum in the fourth quarter, benefiting from a return to normal in the comparative base.

Goldman Sachs released a research report saying that the decline in AIA's new business value (VONB) during the period has been fully anticipated and is basically in line with the bank's expectations and market consensus forecasts. Looking ahead, Goldman Sachs believes that the impact of the cardinal effect has largely subsided. The bank expects AIA to regain the momentum of double-digit growth in new business value in the fourth fiscal quarter of 2026; at the same time, both Hong Kong and mainland China markets are expected to achieve double-digit growth in the 2027 fiscal year.
