Antero Midstream came into this Q3 2026 report with a midstream reputation built on steady cash generation and rich margins. The stock had drifted only modestly higher over the past month, then jumped 3.7% to US$21.52 on the print. That price reaction looks relatively small compared to the headline result. Net income excluding special items was US$392.7m for the quarter and adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization reached US$291m, powered by strong gathering volumes and a hefty contribution from Clearwater litigation proceeds.

The bullish pitch claims Antero Midstream can lean on West Virginia demand, new pipes and water integration to sustain fee backed expansion.
"Analysts expect Antero Midstream to keep using growing West Virginia gas demand, new intrastate pipelines, and an integrated gas and water system to support multi-year fee-based growth and steady cash flow."
Q3 supports parts of that story. Gathering volumes rose 19% and compression volumes climbed 17%, while adjusted EBITDA grew about 3%. Management guided to high single digit EBITDA growth in Q4 and double digit expansion in 2027. HG Midstream water systems hit 100% uptime and integration remains on track. Eastside Express construction is proceeding with unchanged scope and budget, anchoring the intrastate pipeline leg of the thesis.
Bears focus on heavy reliance on Antero Resources and ambitious forecasts for revenue and margin expansion.
"Heavy operational and financial reliance on Antero Resources and activity in Appalachia remains a key concentration risk, since any future slowdown in development on the more than 4.1 Bcf per day of gathered volumes or regional regulatory setbacks could reduce throughput on Antero Midstream’s system and weigh on fee revenue and earnings."
That concern shows up in the latest print. Curtailments affected roughly 10 Bcf of throughput in Q3 despite strong volume growth elsewhere. Management’s demand pull pivot and early interest in Eastside Express and a potential North to South line help diversify end markets, yet both projects carry execution and timing risk. The quarter’s debt reduction to 2.8x leverage and strong free cash flow after dividends offer some cushion if Appalachian activity slows.
