Got $1,000? This Monster Growth Stock Is on Sale Right Now and Targets 10X Sales Growth By 2031

Listen to the news

Marvell Technologies (MRVL) stock surged by more than 200% in the first two quarters of the year before stagnating, and it hasn’t quite recovered since. The stock is currently 34% below its 52-week high, even though Marvell is one of the top artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor companies and a major supplier to data centers.

Marvell has also increased its fiscal 2031 revenue target of $70 billion to $90 billion, which is roughly 10 times its fiscal 2026 revenue at the midpoint. At this pace, it’s easy to see why MRVL stock has done so well. Accordingly, the correction over the past few months should be short-lived, if Marvell can live up to expectations and data-center spending continues to rise.

Semiconductors Are Set to Remain in Demand

Semiconductor companies like Nvidia (NVDA), Broadcom (AVGO), and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) have surged above and beyond what anyone would have expected just two years ago. What's more, their demand is expected to stay in hyper-growth mode as AI companies continue building out data centers, and it's the semiconductor companies themselves that are successfully fueling this growth by funding AI startups.

This "circular" financing is not so doom and gloom as long as Wall Street keeps funding it. For the past few years, the market has been happy to pay up due to growth targets consistently being shattered and AI companies not hitting a wall. The upcoming Anthropic (ANT) initial public offering (IPO) is set to pull in even more money, supercharging the AI wave with fresh capital.

For Marvell, this means more potential demand and growth.

Why I'd Buy the Dip in Marvell Here

Analysts expect revenue to surge from $8.2 billion in fiscal 2026 to $19.7 billion in fiscal 2028, and that estimate could be surpassed if the AI spending spree continues. Semiconductor margins are expected to hold, as they have held up remarkably well in the past four years. New capacity entering the market hasn't been able to pull down prices due to demand outstripping supply. Thus, it would be premature to say we've hit a top.

I wouldn't buy MRVL stock if either the Anthropic IPO or a potential OpenAI IPO dramatically underperform expectations. If that happens, we'll likely see the “circular” financing start to slow down and reverse as fresh capital from the market dries up and eventually affects semiconductor manufacturers downstream.

But nothing yet says that investors' appetite for AI is weak. If anything, I expect both Anthropic and eventually OpenAI to repeat the SpaceX (SPCX) IPO; the stocks will likely initially over-perform, raise massive amounts of cash, perhaps tread water for a brief period, then surge as the freshly raised IPO cash helps boost growth.

Betting on Semiconductors Is Smart

Semiconductor stocks are trading at somewhat reasonable multiples when you consider the tremendous growth. MRVL stock trades at 79.8 times forward earnings, which is far from cheap. But a company that's guiding a 10 times sales increase in the next five years should trade much higher in any market environment.

That said, MRVL stock is among the most expensive semiconductor picks. If you don't want to dabble in a stock that just popped off last year, you can still stick with NVDA stock, for example. Overall, I expect most semiconductor stocks to keep climbing, including Marvell Technologies stock.

Analysts have been hiking their estimates for MRVL stock. The average price target of $337.05 suggests potential upside of 54% from current levels. Overall, Marvell stock has a consensus “Strong Buy” rating on Wall Street based on 39 analysts with coverage.
