WARRI, NIGERIA / ACCESS Newswire / October 29, 2026 / Tejere Anderson Services Limited, a Nigerian energy services company specialising in upstream oilfield support, community programmes development and engagement, and pipeline security, is organising its upstream work around Smart Petroleum Governance under Chief Executive Officer Tejere Jolomi Thomas

Smart Petroleum Governance, the framework Thomas advocates, rests on three pillars: modernisation, transparency and efficiency. It proposes digital monitoring systems that track operations in real time, data-driven decision-making, and security infrastructure designed to anticipate threats rather than react to them.

The company's legal director said the framework depends on the discipline of regulation and management.

"In the upstream sector, regulatory procedures and sound management are not formalities. They are essential," said Tejere Ibidun Ighoyota, Esq, Legal Director of Tejere Anderson Services Limited. "That is why the company has organised itself deliberately around Smart Petroleum Governance, and it is how we have maintained a fast-growing niche. Good governance is what allows growth to last."

Ighoyota has five years of experience in corporate advisory, commercial law, regulatory compliance, contract management and corporate governance. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.).

UPSTREAM APPROACH BUILT ON COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP

Thomas has more than 20 years of experience in upstream operations, deep offshore and exploration, and the development of community programmes and engagement, working across onshore, swamp and creek environments in the Niger Delta. His focus is upstream operations that involve host communities as partners from the start.

"Every upstream project begins in someone's community. Get that relationship right and the rest of the work follows," said Thomas. "Africa cannot measure or fairly distribute what it cannot see. We must govern our energy future intelligently, visibly and on our own terms."
