Relais Group came into this Q3 2026 print on the back foot, with the share price down about 20% over the past three months and closing at €12.05 on 28 October. Investors have been pricing in balance sheet worry. The fresh numbers tell a more nuanced story. Net debt remains heavy at €255.6m and leverage around 4x EBITDA keeps financial risk front and centre. At the same time, operating cash flow year to date of roughly €22m and firmer inventory turnover show the car parts consolidator working to shore up its foundations.

The optimistic view on Relais Group leans heavily on acquisitions turning into a higher margin, broader platform rather than just a bigger one.
"Acquisitions such as Tershine, Matro, QPax, Team Verkstad, Wetteri workshops and others expand the group’s brand portfolio and customer reach, which can widen the addressable market and support EBITDA and earnings through a broader mix of higher margin businesses."
Q3 gives that story partial support. Commercial Vehicle Services and Products & Solutions both posted clear EBITA improvement, and a firmer gross margin of 49.8% fits the higher margin mix idea. Technical Wholesale tells the other side: volumes have not caught up with a heavier cost base, pulling that segment’s profitability down and leaving group net income and EPS weaker year on year. Cash generation looks aligned with the thesis; margin scaling across all units does not yet.
One Narrative has put a figure on that disagreement. → See the Narrative with its higher Fair Value, assumptions and all.
Bearish investors argue that Relais Group’s Technical Wholesale build out risks locking in costs long before volume arrives.
"Relais Group Oyj is investing in multiple new Technical Wholesale locations that may take 6 to 12 months to ramp, and management has already flagged a few cases where demand is not following expectations. This could leave these sites underutilised for longer and weigh on revenue and EBITDA if customer habits are slower to shift."
Q3 results lean toward that concern. Technical Wholesale sales grew, yet its margin slipped from 10.5% to 8.7% as the higher cost base outran volumes. Management’s launch of a profit improvement program and closure of two depots confirms that the ramp has lagged internal expectations.
Relais Group Oyj shows that earnings activity does not always resolve balance sheet risk. The real opportunity is finding stocks that could be undervalued before the market reassesses them.
