Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) may be entering the early stages of a new bull market, as persistent investor fear and apathy reinforce a bullish outlook.

What Does “Wall Of Worry” Imply

Michael Sullivan, software engineer and author of Bitcoin Sentiment Weekly, argued that Bitcoin’s recovery from the $58,000 lows toward $80,000 to $86,000 resembles a "disbelief rally," where prices rise despite widespread skepticism.

He noted that Bitcoin has steadily climbed a "wall of worry" since its late June and early July lows, even as investors shifted attention toward AI stocks.

In a podcast interview with Bitcoin Magazine on Oct. 27, he highlighted several bullish sentiment signals:

  • Historically depressed sentiment: Excitement, conviction and desire are at levels comparable to 2015 and even weaker than during the 2022 bear market.
  • Limited euphoria: Investors quickly return to boredom and uncertainty after price rallies, suggesting the market is far from overheating.
  • Short-term holder frustration: Newer investors remain fearful and angry, while long-term holders demonstrate greater optimism.

Investors buying during euphoric rallies have historically underperformed those using dollar-cost averaging strategies.

Sullivan believes these conditions have historically created attractive long-term buying opportunities.

Could AI Drive The Next Bull Market?

While Sullivan sees Bitcoin’s currently levels as significantly undervalued, artificial intelligence could be a potential catalyst for Bitcoin’s next major rally.

He believes AI-driven productivity gains and economic disruption could increase BTC demand as a scarce asset that cannot be arbitrarily debased.

Growing adoption of on-chain financial tools by AI agents could also strengthen Bitcoin’s investment narrative.

Increasing integration with TradFi institutions could support Bitcoin adoption without requiring the existing financial system to collapse.
