Simply Wall St·10/28/2026 05:00:39
Listen to the news

Last week, you might have seen that Sika AG (VTX:SIKA) released its third-quarter result to the market. The early response was not positive, with shares down 5.0% to CHF175 in the past week. Results were roughly in line with estimates, with revenues of CHF3.1b and statutory earnings per share of CHF3.43. Earnings are an important time for investors, as they can track a company's performance, look at what the analysts are forecasting for next year, and see if there's been a change in sentiment towards the company. So we collected the latest post-earnings statutory consensus estimates to see what could be in store for next year.

After the latest results, the 18 analysts covering Sika are now predicting revenues of CHF12.2b in 2027. If met, this would reflect a modest 7.8% improvement in revenue compared to the last 12 months. Yet prior to the latest earnings, the analysts had been anticipated revenues of CHF12.2b and earnings per share (EPS) of CHF8.36 in 2027. Overall, while the analysts have reconfirmed their revenue estimates, the consensus now no longer provides an EPS estimate. This implies that the market believes revenue is more important after these latest results.

We'd also point out that thatthe analysts have made no major changes to their price target of CHF205. There's another way to think about price targets though, and that's to look at the range of price targets put forward by analysts, because a wide range of estimates could suggest a diverse view on possible outcomes for the business. The most optimistic Sika analyst has a price target of CHF245 per share, while the most pessimistic values it at CHF159. As you can see, analysts are not all in agreement on the stock's future, but the range of estimates is still reasonably narrow, which could suggest that the outcome is not totally unpredictable.

Of course, another way to look at these forecasts is to place them into context against the industry itself. The analysts are definitely expecting Sika's growth to accelerate, with the forecast 6.2% annualised growth to the end of 2027 ranking favourably alongside historical growth of 4.0% per annum over the past five years. Compare this with other companies in the same industry, which are forecast to grow their revenue 5.0% annually. Sika is expected to grow at about the same rate as its industry, so it's not clear that we can draw any conclusions from its growth relative to competitors.

The Bottom Line

The most important thing to take away is that the analysts reconfirmed their revenue estimates for next year, suggesting that the business is performing in line with expectations. Happily, there were no real changes to revenue forecasts, with the business still expected to grow in line with the overall industry. There was no real change to the consensus price target, suggesting that the intrinsic value of the business has not undergone any major changes with the latest estimates.
