Hubbell just dropped a strong Q3 2026 earnings print, and the stock still fell about 5% to roughly US$434 by the close. Traders focused on the red on the screen. Longer term investors will likely be more interested in the details behind that move.
The company delivered about US$1.87b in quarterly revenue and roughly US$4.96 in basic earnings per share, alongside raised full year guidance for both sales and adjusted EPS. Short term momentum in the share price is weak after a tough month, yet the multi year earnings story and valuation debate are where the real decisions now sit.

Hubbell just raised guidance on surging data center and utility growth. Ask Charlie what makes Hubbell so confident about 2027 demand.
The upbeat story around Hubbell centers on execution across grid, data centers and deals, not just headline growth.
"The main factor is that Hubbell successfully integrates NSI and other acquisitions while maintaining pricing power so that higher capital intensity and interest costs do not erode margins."
Q3 gives that claim real footing. NSI is already accretive, adding roughly 29 points to Electrical Solutions growth while segment margin reached 24.8%. Company wide adjusted operating margin improved to 25.5% with price or cost roughly neutral, which supports the idea that early integration and pricing discipline are offsetting inflation and higher capital spend.
The key worry is that specific weak spots eventually outweigh strong grid and data center demand.
"Electrical Solutions saw a 130 basis point decline in adjusted operating margin to 21.2% in Q2 2026 because of price or cost and productivity pressures and higher restructuring expense. If margin expansion does not resume as guided, then segment profitability and group net margins could fall short of expectations."
Latest numbers push against that concern, at least for now. Electrical Solutions margin expanded to 24.8% on 22% organic growth, helped by data center strength and NSI. That suggests earlier pressure was temporary. Some risk remains in Utility, where inflation and a meter component issue limited margin expansion despite a healthy grid backdrop.
