Cipher Digital Inc. (NASDAQ:CIFR) stock is surging on Tuesday as a sector-wide relief rally lifts data center operators. Industry pushback against demand fears sparked renewed buying across the group following a volatile start to the week.
The Nasdaq is up 0.27% while the S&P 500 has gained 0.03%.

Investors are also positioning ahead of the company’s third-quarter earnings report, which is Nov. 2. Wall Street estimates project an earnings loss of 26 cents per stock, compared to 10 cents a year ago. Revenue expectations stand at $38.51 million, down from $71.71 million year-over-year.
The recovery follows market commentary on artificial intelligence spending and debt availability. On CNBC’s “Power Lunch” Monday, Yardeni Research President Ed Yardeni noted that lenders are scrutinizing expansion plans.
“I think air is coming out of the bubble without the bubble bursting, which is the best solution to all these concerns,” Yardeni said. He added: “The bond market is going to regulate the availability of capital to the AI trade.”
Corporate leaders also pushed back against concerns about unfinished sites. TeraWulf Inc. (NASDAQ:WULF) CEO Paul Prager addressed comments from Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) and Space Exploration Technologies Corp (NASDAQ:SPCX) CEO Elon Musk over the weekend regarding potential stranded compute assets, confirming on X that developers face different conditions.
Even after Tuesday’s bounce, Cipher remains in a clear longer-term downtrend: it’s trading 28.7% below its 20-day SMA, 43.6% below its 50-day SMA, and more than 50% below both its 100-day and 200-day SMAs. The bearish structure is reinforced by the 20-day SMA below the 50-day SMA and the Death Cross that triggered in September (50-day SMA below the 200-day SMA).
Momentum is the main story right now, and RSI is the cleanest lens: the RSI at 24.68 signals the stock is oversold, meaning selling pressure has been stretched and bounces can become sharper (even if they don’t immediately change the trend). The key question for traders is whether this rebound can build a base above the October swing low rather than fading into another lower high.
CIFR Stock Price Activity: Cipher Digital shares were up 6.68% at $8.23 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
