12:54 PM EDT, 10/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Swiss Market Index closed Monday's trading session 0.53% in the green, as investors get ready for a busy week of economic data prints and key monetary policy decisions. Swiss President Guy Parmelin is set to sign an enhanced bilateral free trade deal with China during his state visit to the Asian country following a meeting with Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on Friday. Economic and scientific cooperation will also be discussed, as well as issues tied to regional and global security. In Germany, the ifo business climate index rose to 90.2 points in October from 89.9 points in September, mainly reflecting an improvement in expectations among local companies over the coming months. Over to corporates, Roche (RO.SW) reported that results from the phase 3 Krascendo 1 study for its investigational drug divarasib showed reduced risk of disease progression or death by 42% and the overall risk of death by 44%, compared with current standard of care in patients with previously treated KRAS G12C-mutated non-small cell lung cancer. The Swiss pharmaceutical major's shares added 1.51% at closing. "The superior efficacy against the current standard of care demonstrated in this head-to-head trial reinforces divarasib's best-in-class profile. We are working closely with health authorities to bring this new treatment option to the people who need it," said Levi Garraway, chief medical officer and head of global product development at Roche. Aryzta (ARYN.SW) plans to consolidate its retail and foodservice manufacturing activities in Eisleben, Germany, and shutter its Gerolzhofen and Nordhausen factories following a review of its German operations, as part of its restructuring efforts. The Switzerland-based bakery company will also streamline its German portfolio by discontinuing lower-volume and structurally less profitable products and lines. "Once fully implemented, the measures are expected to materially improve German EBITDA margins and contribute c. 60-80 bps to the Group EBITDA margin. Implementation will take place mainly in 2026 and 2027, with the related provision recognised in the 2026 financial year. ARYZTA recognizes the impact these decisions will have on affected employees and will manage the restructuring process responsibly and in accordance with all its obligations," the company said. The stock was up 0.36%.
