08:48 AM EDT, 10/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Tadawul All Share Index closed Monday 3.43% in the green, ending a losing streak, as Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey look to take steps to de-escalate regional geopolitical tensions. Officials from the Mecca pact countries will reportedly hold a meeting with Iranian officials in Tehran to discuss the escalating attacks by Yemen's Houthis, media reports said. According to the General Authority for Statistics, Saudi's merchandise trade surplus in August increased to 15.60 billion Saudi riyals from the prior month's revised 13.24 billion riyals. Merchandise exports, on the other hand, declined 11.5% annually in the reporting month, while imports decreased by 9.1% year over year. The report also said that the United Arab Emirates was the kingdom's main merchandise export partner, while China was the main merchandise source. "The ratio of non-oil exports, including re-exports, to imports increased in August 2026, reaching 36.51% compared to 36.48% in August 2025. This increase was driven by a 9.1% decrease in non-oil exports, compared to a 9.1% decrease in imports over the same period," the report said. "Jeddah Islamic Port was the leading entry point for goods into Saudi Arabia, accounting for 46.7% of total imports in August 2026. It was followed by other major ports: King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh at 14.6%, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah at 8.4%, King Fahad International Airport in Dammam at 6.8%, Al-Batha Port at 3.9%." On the corporate front, Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (SASE:2222), d/b/a Saudi Aramco, will enter a memorandum of understanding for the storage of Saudi crude oil at Singapore's Jurong rock caverns, starting in the second half of 2027. Shares of the state-owned oil giant closed 1.67% higher.
