04:58 AM EDT, 10/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Bayer (BAYN.F) secured marketing authorization in China for Sunharbo, or asundexian, to reduce the risk of stroke in adults following a non-cardioembolic ischemic stroke or high-risk transient ischemic attack. The German life science company said Monday that China's National Medical Products Administration approved the 50-milligram, once-daily oral Factor XIa inhibitor based on results from the global phase 3 Oceanic-Stroke study. The trial showed that asundexian reduced ischemic stroke by 26% when added to standard antiplatelet therapy, compared with antiplatelet therapy alone, while the incidence of all bleeding events was similar between the groups. Marketing authorization applications for the drug are also under review in other markets, Bayer said.
