Weimob Is Down 70% Even Though Sales Rose

Listen to the news

When Weimob reported that H1 2026 revenue reached CNY 869.413m while net income excluding extra items stayed in loss territory at CNY 157.168m, the story for holders was already written in the share price. For Weimob shareholders, the loss over the past year was 69.9%, including dividends. If someone had bought in back on 23 October 2025, expecting omni-channel AI growth to win out, how should they now read this mix of higher sales and a weaker margin?

The easy part of this move is behind Weimob. Zero in on 194 high quality undervalued stocks for companies trading below our estimates.

The Two Weimob Stories Investors Were Weighing

The shares cost HK$2.25 at the start of the period, and anyone looking at Weimob then had to pick between two very different stories.

On the optimistic side, the bullish narrative argued that deep integration with WeChat and Douyin would widen omni channel commerce. This view pointed to a Fair Value of HK$3.22, a price implied by assumptions such as 24.2% annual revenue growth.

The cautious view focused on tighter Chinese regulation and Tencent platform risk. This perspective suggested a Fair Value of HK$1.7, with expectations of a 4.2% profit margin as the key stress point.

What The Results Changed For The Weimob Thesis

The clearest datapoint is Weimob’s H1 2026 report. Revenue was CNY 869.413m versus CNY 775.467m in H1 2025, yet net income excluding extra items moved from a CNY 33.056m loss to a CNY 157.168m loss. Net margin went from 4.3% in the red to 18.1% in the red. That combination of higher sales and weaker profitability cut both ways for the original bull and bear cases.

The key lesson is simple. When a story leans on future margin strength, do not just track the top line. Watch the reported net margin each half year and test whether extra revenue is actually turning into smaller losses or firmer earnings.

What The Fall In Weimob’s Share Price Now Asks You To Believe

Weimob trades at HK$0.69 today, and the selected Narrative’s Fair Value sits above that level based on its own modelling and assumptions, not a hard fact. The argument turns on whether AI led products, multichannel marketing and overseas efforts can translate into steadier, higher quality earnings.

For the slide over the past year to look like an opening rather than a red flag, a buyer now would need to believe that execution on AI capacity, merchant budgets and overseas expansion will support the kind of revenue mix and cash generation the Narrative expects.

"The view on Weimob has shifted from broad structural concerns around regulation, competition and platform dependence to a more focused caution on execution risks and revenue visibility within its AI led and higher margin growth strategy. What's Changed: Previously, the focus sat on external regulatory and platform pressures restraining Weimob revenue and margins. Now the emphasis is on internal execution, AI delivery capacity, and revenue visibility as the main constraints on earnings quality."

Where A Different AI Bet Starts

Weimob raises questions about where dependable AI demand might settle. Nearby, a quieter infrastructure story is taking shape.

Your merchants want tools running on substantial computing, not just polished interfaces. That means someone must supply and manage serious back end capacity.

Another large provider is concentrating on cloud platforms designed for intensive AI workloads. It offers databases, computing power and tools to deploy AI agents across existing software.

Clients are already signing extended contracts tied to that capacity. If usage remains solid, the business mix around those AI data centers could shift meaningfully for that provider.
