The Japanese government said it will hold a ministerial meeting on Monday to discuss cyber threats, as more and more data breaches have revealed the country's weaknesses in cybersecurity. “Numerous cyber attacks against Japanese companies and other institutions have shown us large-scale data breaches and secondary damage caused by the use of such leaked information,” Chief Cabinet Secretary Minoru Kihara said at a regular press conference held on Monday morning. “Addressing this issue has become a priority,” he said. Kihara Minoru said that Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae will host the meeting at 6 p.m. local time to coordinate the government's response to recent frequent cyber attacks.
