Instalco stock closed today at SEK42.5, roughly flat over the last week, even as the Q3 2026 report landed with punchy profit metrics. The headline was clear. EBITA reached SEK254m with an EBITA margin of 7.2%, and the order backlog climbed to SEK11.7b.
In the short term, that muted price move might look underwhelming next to double digit revenue growth and a thicker margin. Over a longer horizon, investors are weighing those gains against a higher net debt to EBITDA level and what that means for returns once the current project wave rolls through.

The bullish story hangs on Instalco turning process upgrades and a richer project mix into sturdier earnings, not just a bigger order book.
"The main thing that has to go right is that Instalco keeps translating its higher-margin mix, tighter project discipline and installation capacity tied to AI and data-center demand into solid EBITA margins and strong cash conversion across Sweden, Norway, Finland and Germany."
Q3 shows progress on the first half of that claim. EBITA margin lifted to 7.2% and the LTM level edged up to 6.9%, helped by Sweden at 7.4% and Finland and Germany at about 10.4%. Cash conversion at 74% and higher net debt mean the cash flow piece still trails the narrative.

Bears argue that Instalco’s push into Germany could add complexity faster than earnings quality.
"However, integrating a 22 company group with revenues of about €150 million and margins only at least in line with Nordic operations raises the risk that higher complexity and mixed project quality dilute group margins and limit earnings contribution from this expansion."
Q3 margins landed at 7.2% with Finland and Germany at about 10.4%, so dilution is not showing yet. The bear worry lives in the balance sheet. Cash conversion slipped to 74% and net debt to EBITDA sits around 3x, well above the 2.5x target, so the leverage milestone is clearly missed this quarter.
