08:18 AM EDT, 10/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency approved Johnson & Johnson (JNJ.F) unit Janssen-Cilag's icotrokinra hydrochloride tablet to treat severe plaque psoriasis. The approval was based on four late-stage clinical trials, in which the drug showed efficacy in treating moderate to severe plaque psoriasis after 16 weeks, compared with placebo, according to a Friday release. Icotrokinra hydrochloride is indicated for patients aged 12 and above with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis, who weigh at least 40 kilograms and are candidates for systemic therapy. Plaque psoriasis is an inflammatory condition causing scaly, itchy, and painful skin on the scalp, genitals, hands and feet, or nails.
